A talent tested in the Second Division to attack promotion to the 1st Federation. Isma Cerro yesterday became the seventh signing of Real Avilés Industrial in this summer market.
“I am very grateful to the club for trusting me to return to the land where I was happy,” said the player from Cáceres, who left Asturias in 2020, when he left Sporting.
Cerro arrives in Avilés with a contract that binds him to the blue and white club for the next two seasons. “I’m looking forward to returning all the love on the field and achieving great goals with the team and the fans,” said the player, who becomes the fourth winger signed by Avilés this summer, after Joel del Pino, Davo Fernández and Miguel Angel Sierra.
The man from Cáceres is a talented winger who has the endorsement of his previous coaches, who are full of praise for him. “On a personal level, he is a very good kid. With good character and who puts the collective good before the individual,” says José Alberto López, who trained him at Sporting B. In sports, Nacho Castro, the coach who had Cerro at his orders in Andorra, affirms that “he is very good in small spaces and with a good one against one”. López adds that “he has overflow, he hits and technically he is exquisite. I think he is an excellent signing for Avilés”. Both coaches agree that “if he competes with confidence, he can be a differential player.”
Formed in the lower categories of the Diocesan CD, the winger has traveled throughout a good part of the national territory looking for his soccer place.
After his first years of training, he made the leap to Real Madrid’s third team, from which he was loaned to Racing Santander. Already in the north of the country, he ended up joining the ranks of Sporting, where he came to fruition, playing in the old Segunda B, his best campaign. From that stage, and after a serious injury, the man from Extremadura went through the ranks of Badajoz, Andorra, Guijuelo and Coria.
