Investigation Started into Racist Gestures towards “Auda” Player during Match against “Metta”

An investigation has been started regarding the incident that took place on June 29 in the match in which “Auda” beat the “Metta” team 1:0. During the compensation of the second half, when the Brazilian forward of “Auda” Režinaldu Ramiris immediately returned to the field after leaving the field on a stretcher, the footballer received a condemning reaction from the fans of “Metta”.

LFF reports that the protocol of the match and the delegate’s report contain records of the use of racist gestures by “Metta” fans towards the “Auda” player. The decision to refer the case to the relevant LFF legal institution will be taken after receiving the necessary additional information and explanations from the involved parties.

“Metta Ultras” manager Dainis Sondors, explaining the events of Thursday’s match, wrote to LETA agency that Ramiris caused dissatisfaction from the “Metta” spectators, who booed the “Audas” player, at the end of the game, delaying the game time.

“Since our group “Metta Ultras” was in the outer sector of the stands, but the incident happened in the middle sector, where the passive spectators were sitting, we will not be able to comment on the event in detail, because we were simply too far away to hear or see what happened there,” said Sondor.

LFF DK has not invited “Metta Ultras” to testify, as this fan group is not involved in this incident. “Metta Ultras are only responsible for the actions of their group members and not for all the spectators in the stands,” Sondor noted.

At the post-match press conference, “Audas” head coach Simo Valakari expressed his regret for the racist gestures and his misunderstanding that something like this happens today.

On the other hand, “Metta” captain Andris Richerts said that the fans reacted to the simulation of the football player, but he did not have any information about any manifestations of racism. The team benches in this game were not on the side of the stands where the incident took place.
