Impressive Athleticism: Colts Rookie Anthony Richardson Shows off Basketball Skills

Anthony Richardson, a 21-year-old NFL promise, was taken by the Indianapolis team with the fourth overall pick in the last Draft, which took place in Kansas City. The quarterback, who graduated from the University of Florida, surprised with his incredible athletic ability in the Draft tryouts, which catapulted him into becoming a Top 5 pick.

Richardson made his great athleticism clear today, as he attended a gym in the city of Indianapolis to play a couple of friendly basketball duels. A local journalist also attended the same session and was impressed by what the young quarterback can do on the court, or so he commented in a post on his social networks:

The brand new Colts player played basketball at his high school, Eastside High, in Gainesville, Florida, where he averaged 10.5 points per game in his freshman year, before leaving the sport for good to focus entirely on football.

Anthony Richardson made his enormous athletic abilities clear ahead of the NFL Draft. The quarterback, who weighs 110 kilos, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds, has a vertical jump of 102 centimeters (40.5 inches) and in the long jump he managed 3.27 meters.

Ultimately, the Colts chose to select a young quarterback in the Draft, using their prime position, having preferred to sign veterans in free agency after the unexpected retirement of Andrew Luck in 2019. Since then, Jacoby Brissett, Philip Rivers, Carson Wentz and Matt Ryan have served as the starting quarterbacks in the seasons the team has played, with results that left much to be desired.
