Holstein Kiel Secures Long-Term Deal with Goalscorer Steven Skrzybski

Second division soccer team Holstein Kiel has tied goalscorer Steven Skrzybski (30) to themselves for the long term. As the storks announced on Friday, the striker extended his contract, which expires next summer, by two more years until 2026. The 30-year-old switched from Bundesliga relegated Schalke 04 to the North Germans two years ago. Last season Skrzybski played all 34 league games and scored 15 goals.

“We know that Steven aroused desires with his performance and his goals last season. That’s why we sought dialogue early on and were always open with one another,” said Kiel’s sporting director Uwe Stöver: “It then became apparent that we were able to convince him of our path and he can be an important building block in building a newly assembled team.”

Kiel and Skrzybski start the season on Sunday (1.30 p.m. / Sky) with an away game at Eintracht Braunschweig.
