Heat Legend Udonis Haslem Retires After 20 Seasons with Miami

He played 20 seasons at the Heat with players like LBJ, Wade and Bosh

.

He had already made his decision last March, but the official announcement has only just come out. Haslem decided, after 20 NBA seasons, all played in Miami, that it was time to retire. He did it with a beautiful message via social media.

The championships, the accolades, the brotherhood, man, it’s hard not to be at peace. Not Drafted by a Three-time Champion, All-Rookie 2nd Team, Teammate of the Year, Oldest Player to Play in an NBA Finals Game, Miami Heat & All-Time Leading Rebounder & Highest Player longer in office, the list could go on…. It will always be GOG, but it’s time for the family man and businessman to get down to business… #40, see you soon…”, part of his post.

Many said goodbye to whoever captained the Heat for so many seasons, including former teammates Wade and LBJ. True incarnation of the Heat culture, Haslem è; only the third NBA player to play 20 seasons with the same franchise (with which he won three NBA rings in 2006, 2012 and 2013). Before him, only Nowitzki (Dallas Mavs) and Kobe Bryant (LA Lakers) succeeded. Miami has already made it known that their number 40 jersey will be retired and no one will be able to wear it again.
