Guatemala Maintains Undefeated Record in Central American Senior Women’s Basketball Championship

In the second hour of this Saturday, the representatives of the country of the quetzal, the national bird of Guatemala, disposed of Honduras with a score of 77 to 59 to maintain their undefeated record in four presentations.

Early in the penultimate day of the COCABA 2023 Central American Senior Women’s Basketball Championship, Panama disposed of Nicaragua to leave it in the basement of the tournament.

At the end of the day there was a clash between the locals and Costa Rica, an exchange that so far was the closest that the cuscatlecas faced but which ended with a score of 75 to 51 in favor of the locals, who thus obtained their fourth victory.

Tomorrow the hostesses will go to the court of the Adolfo Pineda National Gymnasium to define the first position at 7:30 p.m. with the Guatemalans undefeated up to now with (4-0).

Before tonight’s clash, the coach of the Costa Ricans, Cristian Chavarría, said that the Salvadorans have a more elaborate roster and a top-level coaching staff, which places them as favorites to win the tournament.

As already praised by the coaches of Nicaragua, Panama and Honduras, Chavarría pondered the virtues that Azul Cuscatleca has to win the title of the 2023 Central American Senior Women’s Basketball Championship.

“Unlike the rest of the teams (El Salvador) it has a more elaborate roster. They probably have more work time than several of the teams can have with a little less time to prepare, and that makes them a very solid team, it is reflected every time they play and I think they have a first-rate coaching staff”, he pointed out.

Until now, the locals have won all their games with scores of more than 20 points, even against Nicaragua they exceeded one hundred.
