It’s a match that was decided on small details, this match 1 of the triptych between Bologna and San Marino. Fortitudo wins 2-1 in comeback, with the Italian champions wasting greedy opportunities to hit home plate in the final three innings. On the mound the winner is Rivero, loser Kourtis. THE MATCH. Between the 1st and 2nd innings both teams find themselves, on one occasion, putting two men on base with two outs, but no runs arrive. On the 3rd, more arrivals on base without generating points for their respective attacks (error on Batista and single by Albert), while on the 4th, the game unlocks.
The credit goes to Gabriel Lino, who shoots a great home run in the center which means San Marino has the advantage. It is a 1-0 which, however, lasts the space of the attack-defense change, with Fortitudo squeezing a point in the bottom of the same inning thanks to the combination Helder (single plus steal) – Agretti (single).
On the 5th Epifano starts very well with a hit, with Di Fabio moving him with a great bunt with two strikes. Epifano himself, however, runs up to the third and is eliminated, with Batista who will be the third out a few moments later. Opportunity lost, with Bologna instead, always in 5th place, scores and overtakes. Dobboletta’s hit means a change on the Monte dei Titani, with Hernandez for Kourtis. Dreni moves his partner to second position with a bunt and the hosts then score, with Albert, the single that brings home the 2-1. It is the only hit granted by Hernandez, otherwise with an immaculate roster in his two innings.
On the 6th minute there is an opportunity to make an impact, with San Marino which however does not materialize a situation of full bases (valid by Angulo and Lino, wild and intentional pitch by Dudley Leonora) and only one out. Ericson Leonora, in fact, flies out on the first throw from shortstop, Seferina, who then shoots to second and also eliminates Lino, who broke away from the base and then slipped in an attempt to get back.
Even at the 7th San Marino manages to put two men on base (valid by Epifano and Batista hit by Robles) but Angulo, in diamond, is the third out.
Bologna wins 2-1.
