Bayern win their first test match on the Asia trip. Josip Stanisic scores against Kawasaki Frontale. Million access Min-Jae Kim acts solidly. Leon Goretzka only comes off the bench again.

At the proper debut of the new defense giant Min-Jae Kim for FC Bayern, Sadio Mané, who failed as a world football star in Munich, was only there as a spectator. The 31-year-old Senegalese was not used in the 1-0 (0-0) of the German series champions against Kawasaki Frontale in Tokyo.

Three days after the 2-1 draw against Champions League winners Manchester City, defender Josip Stanisic (57th minute) ensured Bayern’s first victory on the Asia trip. On Wednesday there will be a test against Liverpool at the end of the marketing trip in Singapore.

Mané was still there in the national stadium, which was well filled with 45,289 spectators. He sat in a cap at the end of the substitutes’ bench on a chair. His move to Saudi Arabia to join Al-Nassr, which also plays for Cristiano Ronaldo, is drawing near. “Sadio Mané is in contract talks about a change of club and is therefore not in the squad,” said Bayern. The Mané chapter is about to end prematurely after a first year that was disappointing for both the club and the players.

Kim hints at skills

Kim, who was brought in from Italian champions SSC Napoli for 50 million euros, needed a few minutes to start. The South Korean then hinted at his skills. The 26-year-old should integrate quickly. It took Bayern almost an hour to start before substitute defender Stanisic scored to make it 1-0 after a vigorous push.

The goal tally remains a deficit without wish striker Harry Kane. 18-year-old Mathys Tel had four top chances, hitting the post once (10′) as did Arijon Ibrahimovic later (85′). Leon Goretzka’s trip to Asia should make you think. Like against Man City, new signing Konrad Laimer was allowed to start again in midfield alongside captain Joshua Kimmich. Goretzka only came back at the break when coach Thomas Tuchel made nine changes.
