F1, Pirelli formalizes the tires for Zandvoort and Monza where we will see a softer choice

While the Formula One World Championship 2023 officially goes on vacation, Pirelli announces the tires that will be supplied to teams and riders in view of the next two Grands Prix, namely the Dutch one at Zandvoort and the Italian one at Monza. The one-two that proposes the calendar after returning from the August break will see very interesting allocations.

To the Olanda Grand Prixthe thirteenth round of the World Championship, Pirelli has chosen the following compounds: PZero White Hard C1, PZero Yellow Medium C2 and PZero Red Soft C3, i.e. 3 of the 4 hardest compounds in the range. For the Italian Grand Prix of Monzathe tires will be: PZero White Hard C3, PZero Yellow Medium C4 and PZero Red Soft C5.

On the track of Zandvoort we will continue on the line drawn a year ago. Pirelli justified its choice because the Dutch track is very demanding, one of the most stressful on the whole calendar as regards the tyres. The two most demanding corners will always be the usual ones, i.e. the two banked corners: 3 and 14.

Switching to Monza, however, Pirelli has opted for a completely different choice than that of Zandvoort. The three softest types of rubber will be the protagonists on the Brianza track, therefore a change of course compared to 2022, when the Milanese manufacturer had brought a harder grade of compound than the current one (C2, C3 and C4). On the occasion of the Italian Grand Prix, what was seen in Hungary will be repeated, i.e. the qualifications with the already pre-established compounds. Hard tires in Q1, medium tires in Q2, then hunt for pole position with soft tires in Q3.
