Elephants A’ Ready to Soar in AfroCan Tournament After Qualification Success

After their faultless performance (3 wins in 3 games) during the qualifications for AFROCAN, the local Elephants were initially supposed to leave Abidjan on Wednesday July 5 for Luanda. Their departure having been postponed to the following day, it is therefore on the morning of Thursday that the A ‘selection of Côte d’Ivoire will finally fly to Luanda, the Angolan capital, in order to honor its second participation in the AfroCan. .

From good sources, the FIBB would also like to thank all the leaders, its partners and the Ivorian public for the success of the AfroCan 2023 qualifying campaign which allowed the Elephants A ‘to validate their ticket for Luanda .

Aware of the unwavering support of the Ivorian public, the Elephants A’ are preparing to set foot on Angolan soil to hoist the national flag high.

Côte d’Ivoire, which finished 10th in the 2019 edition of AfroCan, begins the 2023 campaign on July 8, 2023 against Kenya in group A. On Sunday July 9, Elephants A’ will face Panthers A ‘ of Gabon for the second is last match of the group.

FIBA AfroCan is a quadrennial competition for African players based on the African continent. The second edition will take place in Angola from July 8 to 16, 2023.
