Edwin Cardona was officially presented in América de Cali and after his departure from Racing, the midfielder decided to travel to Colombia to return to his best football level.
After the announcement of the scarlet club, Edwin Cardona offered an interview for the “Saque Largo” program on the Win Sports channel and there, the midfielder explained his reasons for returning to Colombian soccer and especially for reaching the team led by Lucas González.

However, the midfielder took advantage of the space they gave him to talk about the situation he experienced in Racing and the many criticisms he received from various journalists upon learning of his arrival at the scarlet team, Jhon Jairo ‘JJ’ Miranda Miranda being one of those who spoke at the time about the player and in the middle of an interview, Cardona faced him to tell him how much his words affected him on a personal and family level.
“When I came, you said things that hurt. Say what you said, without seeing me, you didn’t know what was happening behind me, a lot happened in Argentina. You know what you said and I don’t want to repeat it. What you said hurts. But it is respectable because we all have different points of view. I’m not saying this with anger or resentment, but you have to measure yourself because we have children. I don’t know you, but it hurts”, mentioned Edwin Cardona
JJ Miranda responded and apologized to Cardona:
After Cardona’s comments, JJ Miranda mentioned that he was going to review what he said because he believes that he never messed with his family part, but he apologized if he hurt any feelings.
“I’ve never messed with the personal part, I’ve never talked about you as a person. I’ve never talked about situations outside of football. I’m going to check what I said. If I said something that made you feel bad, that affected your environment, I apologized”, JJ Miranda finished.
