Double blow for UnipolSai Bologna who signed an agreement until the end of the season with Kevin Josephina and Ernesto Liberatore.

Two great returns in the ranks Fortitudo which brings back to Italy the twenty-six year old native of Willemstad (Curaçao), already a great protagonist in the past season which closed with the victory of the Italian Cup, and the Italian-Venezuelan catcher who returns to Bologna after the parenthesis in Venezuela.

Kevin Josephina (Fortitudo Bologna)

Josephina is a switch hitter, born on October 2, 1996. In the first part of the year he was busy with the Curaçao national team but already at the end of last season, the white and blue managers had set to work to confirm him also in 2023, in the light of the performances seen on the pitch and the contribution given to the team during the season. Kevin Carl Michael Josephina played for 7 seasons in the American minor leagues with the Atlanta Braves franchise up to UnipolSai Fortitudo. Joining the team early in the season last year, he finished the league with a .385 batting average, hitting 55 hits including 14 extra bases, 35 RBI and 13 stolen bases.

Between Liberatore and Bologna it was a goodbye and so it was. The Italian-Venezuelan catcher thus returns to defend UnipolSai’s home plate. Liberatore, after starting the championship in Bologna, asked and obtained from the club the possibility of playing in the Venezuelan summer Liga Mayor; with the Senadores de Caracas, he finished the league with a batting average of .278, with 10 hits made and 7 runs scored.

Fortitudo Baseball Bologna has also communicated that the athlete Henderson Perez will no longer be part of the roster of the first team.
