Bad news for football fans who are thinking about subscribing to “DAZN”: The streaming service is increasing its prices again as part of a new structure. From now on, new customers will only see the Bundesliga and the Champions League under “DAZN Unlimited”. So far, both have also run under “DAZN Standard”, which no longer exists in this form.
Means in terms of price: If you as a fan want to remain flexible and be able to cancel monthly, “DAZN Unlimited” now costs 44.99 euros a month instead of the previous 39.99 euros.
If you opt for an annual subscription, it is 29.99 euros per month. Under the previous “Standard” package, however, it was still 24.99 euros. So you pay de facto five euros more here.
Important: The new structure applies to new customers, the prices for existing customers will not change.
DAZN: Confusion about subscription extension
The fact that the subscription passage says that the “unlimited” subscription costs 44.99 euros from the 13th month has irritated customers, but the background is that DAZN is legally obliged to ensure that the subscription is not automatically one year extended.
Otherwise, the customer would automatically switch to the subscription that can be canceled on a monthly basis. “All customers will receive offers from DAZN to extend it by one year in good time before the end of the annual subscription,” announced DAZN.
“DAZN” shows 15 of 16 Champions League games per match day. In addition, there are the Friday and Sunday games of the Bundesliga.
DAZN subscriptions: It is also cheaper
The name and price of the standard package were changed after the Bundesliga and Champions League were discontinued. The package that can now be booked under the name “DAZN Super Sports” now costs 19.99 euros (annual subscription) and 24.99 euros in a monthly subscription, both packages are five euros cheaper.
The existing “DAZN World” package is also cheaper, which is now available as an annual subscription for 6.99 euros per month. A further EUR 9.99 will be charged for the monthly cancelable package.
DAZN only introduced the packages mentioned for new customers in January and even then increased the prices in some cases significantly.
