Carlsson, the No. 2 draft pick, signed a contract with Anaheim

Carlsson competed in the junior and senior world championships last season. For Rib, he played 44 games in the starting lineup, in which he scored ten goals and added 15 assists. He added a goal and eight assists in 13 playoff games. He was subsequently named the best junior hockey player of the year.

We were impressed by his hockey IQ, his creativity, Anaheim general manager Pat Verbeek said after the draft, in which only Canadian super talent Connor Bedard was selected before Carlsson. In particular, he has really good physical parameters, and I liked his two-way game. “I think he has the potential to become a dominant player on both ends of the ice,” added Verbeek.
