Canada and Nigeria evened each other out at the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. Top scorer Christine Sinclair, who has already scored 190 goals for Canada, missed a penalty.
The Nigerian Chiamaka Nnadozie turned out to be woman of the match. She excelled with some great saves.
Just after half-time, she dove for the right corner to save Christine Sinclair’s penalty.
A great achievement, because Sinclair is not just any old man. The 40-year-old Canadian has already scored 190 international goals in her career. Nobody does better.
The penalty was not the first chance Sinclair had missed. She left disappointed after the match.
Next week Olympic champion Canada will play against Ireland, Nigeria will take on home country Australia.
