Kendrick Nunn guides Panathinaikos to a EuroLeague Final Four after 12 years

MADRID, 7 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Panathinaikos qualified this Tuesday for the Euroleague Final Four, 12 years after their last time, thanks to an 81-72 victory against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the fifth and final duel (3-2) of their ‘ playoff’ quarterfinals, guided by 26 points and 27 rating credits from American point guard Kendrick Nunn.

Nunn scored half of his points in the fourth quarter, where Panathinaikos sealed their victory by a cumulative score of 23-16. At the conclusion of the match, the local fans invaded the OAKA Altion field full of happiness, after seeing how their team had come back from a tie that was 1-2 down.

Despite being limping, Kostas Sloukas contributed 15 points to the result of the Athenian team, which with the Turkish Ergin Ataman on the bench and a good portion of checkbook has formed a squad to compete for the top European title. Their rival in the semis of that Final Four, which will be held in Berlin (Germany) from May 24 to 26, will emerge from the winner of the match between AS Monaco and Fenerbahçe, currently tied (2-2).
