Two clubs have entered the million dollar race for the Frenchman: Aston Villa and Al-Nassr FC, Cristiano Ronaldo’s club (38).
How is it going?
Bayer rejected a first offer from England at the end of last week. According to “RMC Sport”, the Saudis, who were recently banned from a transfer, made an offer of 38 million euros (plus 5 million euros in bonus payments) at the weekend. Bayer’s idea is a transfer fee of 60 million euros.
Aston Villa and Al-Nassr raise bids
According to BILD information, both Aston Villa and Al-Nassr have now increased their offers. Both are now around 50 million euros!
Fact is: Villa (starts in the playoffs of the Conference League) is ready for Diaby to break his own transfer record. So far it has been 38.4 million euros for Emiliano Buendìa (26), who came from Norwich in 2021.
It is also clear: Leverkusen would prefer to keep Diaby (contract until 2025). But: Last season’s top scorer (14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions) wants to take the next step in his career after four years in the Bundesliga – at Aston Villa. However, the Saudis also want to sign the winger.

And what about other possible departures?
Galatasaray Istanbul has an interest in Kerem Demirbay (30/contract until 2024). But: According to BILD information, the Turks are still under 3 million euros with their offer – Bayer is clearly not enough. A club from Italy – not Florence, as was recently speculated – also has Demirbay in mind.
Meanwhile, Jeremie Frimpong (22) is quiet. Likewise, Timothy Fosu-Mensah (25) does not currently indicate a quick departure.
