Strong performance by Alexander Zverev: The German Olympic champion clearly defeated Thiago Monteiro 6: 1 and 6: 0 in the round of 16 of the ATP 250 tournament in Bastad and is therefore in the quarterfinals of the Swedish clay court event.
Zverev, who had had major problems against Alex Molcan in the first round, dominated Monteiro from the start in the round of 16 and never gave the Brazilian a chance. The 26-year-old will meet Andrey Rublev or Pavel Kotov in the quarter-finals on Friday.
