Gannat. More than 300 participants in the 7th Gannatoise Olympiad. With its labels “Terre de Jeux 2024” and “Active and sporting city”, the town has just organized its seventh Olympiad over four days, which brought together many participants, aged 15 to 80.
Touch rugby, basketball, badminton, tennis, padel, handball, football, petanque, hiking… More than 300 people took part in these meetings to have fun with family, friends, colleagues, neighbours…, without worrying about the result.
Maintaining the values of sport
Attendance was uneven depending on the discipline, but badminton, petanque and football attracted many people. Like some thirty executives and employees of the pharmaceutical company Unither and François Marteau, its director of human resources, who expressed his feelings in this way: “These fun encounters allowed us to practice certain sports for the first time, to get to know other people who share the same values and also to strengthen our corporate cohesion”.
After emphasizing the diligence of various associations such as the Punch savate of Gannat in the wake of their world champion Christophe Brugiroux and many of his friends, Sylvain Domine, municipal councilor in charge of Sports, valued the Olympic spirit of all participants who continued their exchanges around the friendship pot.
