15th Edition of ‘3×3 Street Basketball’ Tournament Adds New Category on FIBA Circuit

Next Saturday, July 29, the well-known ‘3×3 Street Basketball’ will be held in Malpartida de Cáceres, one of the activities held every summer in the town, celebrating its fifteenth edition this year.

This year, as a novelty, they have added one more category, ‘FIBA Men’, scoring on the FIBA ​​3×3 circuit, in addition to the 5 categories each year; Mixed Sub12, female and male Sub16 and the two Absolute categories, male and female.

In this edition, around 400 participants will attend, having registered teams from different places; León, Fuenlabrada (Madrid), Plasencia, Mérida, Badajoz and Cáceres, among other neighboring municipalities of the Malpartideña town.

The colored umbrellas of the Plaza Mayor, under which the 6 courts will be located where the different games will be played, will create the ideal environment for the celebration of this tournament, which will also have music, inflatables, a raffle for 100 balls, triple and dunk contests and, of course, a lot of basketball throughout some 15 hours of uninterrupted games.

In addition, participants will be able to enjoy the facilities of the Municipal Pool with free admission.

Prizes

Various prizes will be distributed among the participants; for the first and second place in the FIBA ​​Men’s, Absolute Men’s and Absolute Women’s categories; 400 euros plus trophy and 200 euros plus trophy, for the first and second classified of each one.

In the Male Sub 16 and Female Sub 16 categories, there will be a prize of 100 euros plus a trophy and 50 euros plus a trophy for the first and second classified.

Lastly, in Mixed Under 12, both the first and second classified will receive a trophy.

For its part, in the dunk contest, the first classified will receive 100 euros and a trophy and in the triples contest, the first classified in the absolute category will receive 50 euros and a trophy and the first classified in the sub 16 category will receive a trophy.

There will also be a trophy for the best local team (not BAM) and medals for all participants in the Under 12 category.

The tournament is organized by the Malpartida Basketball Association, from Malpartida de Cáceres, and the town council.
