When Federer won his eighth Wimbledon crown, with a resounding three-set victory against Croatian Marin Cilic in the 2017 final, Nole had barely three tournament titles in his possession, those of 2011, beating Rafael Nadal in the clash decisive, and 2014 and 2015, both with victories against the Swiss.
