The Peruvian badminton team won ten medals, including 3 gold, in the Peru Future Series 2023 tournament that was held at the Club de Regatas Lima de Chorrillos headquarters.
Inés Castillo, Paula La Torre and Diego Mini, members of the Athlete Support Program (PAD) of the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD), were the ones who climbed to the top of the podium to proudly wave the national flag.
Castillo won the Single Ladies (WS) modality, as well as the Ladies Doubles (WD) with La Torre, who also won the Mixed Doubles (XD) with Mini.
In addition, four silver medals were obtained, thanks to Fernanda Saponara (WS), Fernanda Munar – Rafaela Munar (WD), Daniel La Torre – Diego Subauste (MD) and José Guevara – Inés Castillo (XD).
The bronze medals went to Naomi Junco – Carla Valdivia (WD), Jose Guevara – Diego Mini (MD) and Sharum Durand – Namie Miyahira (XD).
This event was attended by 83 players from 15 countries such as Peru, El Salvador, United States, Indonesia, Paraguay, Canada, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, England, Barbados, Chinese Taipei, Germany, Jamaica and Ecuador.
