Bukayo Saka Shines with Hat-Trick in England’s Victory at Old Trafford

Manchester

Bukayo Saka scored his first hat-trick for England when he beat North Macedonia 7-0 in a qualifier for Euro 2024. The Arsenal striker received applause from the Manchester public after the game.

Taking place at Old Trafford, Tuesday (20/6/2023) early morning WIB, Saka scored three goals in the 38th, 4th and 51st minutes. Harry Kane scored two goals in the 29th and 73rd minutes, then Marcus Rashford and Kalvin Phillips one goal each.

England consolidated their position at the top of Group C with 12 points from 4 matches, the result of four consecutive wins. But behind it all, Saka deserves credit for his brilliant appearance.

The three goals created from four shots on target show Saka’s sharp instincts in front of goal. Regardless of the opponent’s strength being a level below England, the 21-year-old player was still able to take advantage of the opportunity well.

No wonder the fans gave a standing ovation to Saka. He has now scored 11 goals in 28 appearances. At such a young age, England’s front line looks secure in the next few years in the hands of himself, as well as Rashford and Kane.

“I’ll probably be framing the match ball but I’ll be holding onto it for the next few days,” Saka told BBC Radio 5 Live. He did bring home the ball, a tradition for players who score hat-tricks.

“It’s a special night, a big win and the first hat-trick is really special. I can’t remember the last time I scored three goals, even at junior level. It’s a decent record, but there is still room for improvement,” explained Saka.
