RWDM Signs Pierre Dwomoh on Loan with Transfer Ban Looming

Without a transfer ban (see below), Pierre Dwomoh (19) will wear the shirt of RWDM next season. Yesterday we already announced that the Brussels PhD student showed explicit interest in the Antwerp midfielder. Now the clubs involved and the player also reached an agreement. RWDM hires the young Belgian for one season with a purchase option. That transition would come, although RWDM is facing a temporary transfer ban.

That is because the club still has to pay KV Oostende an amount of 605,000 euros after the transfer of Mickaël Biron last summer. The people of Brussels took over the Martinican striker for 2.5 million euros and paid that transfer fee in installments. With the remaining 605,000 euros, they did not cross the bridge for the time being.

RWDM assured that the outstanding account will soon be settled. If that happens effectively, a transfer ban is not necessary. The deal with Dwomoh can also go ahead before a verdict is reached.

Dwomoh still has a contract with Antwerp until mid-2024 (with option), but again did not fit into coach Mark van Bommel’s plans. Last season, the former youth product of KRC Genk was already loaned to Braga B (Portugal) and KV Oostende. At KVO, it was former CEO Gauthier Ganaye who brought Dwomoh to the coast. The Frenchman now holds the same position at RWDM.
