The overseas departments of France created a sensation on Tuesday in the final of the play-offs leading to the Gold Cup. Martinique wins (2-0) against Puerto Rico to qualify in the same way as Guadeloupe which dominated Guyana. Saint Kitts and Nevis also put on a show by dismissing French Guiana on penalties.
Marc Collat and his Martiniquais obtain the right to participate in the Gold Cup in the United States this weekend. In Florida, at the Drive Pink Stadium, they withstood the onslaught of the Puerto Ricans in the pouring rain to win (2-0) with Brighton Labeau opening the scoring in the 52nd minute and Kevin Fortuné securing the success in added time ( 90+5).
