One goal: reach $30,000 to improve gymnasium facilities

The Louis-Jacques-Casault Secondary School Foundation is launching a fundraising campaign to upgrade the sports facilities in the school gymnasium. The goal of this campaign is to reach $30,000. The funds will be used to purchase panels for basketball hoops and stands, among other things.

The organization wants to mobilize the entire community, including local businesses and organizations.

Initially, the funds raised will be used to purchase panels for the plexiglass basketball hoops, in accordance with the standards of the Réseau du sport sportif du Québec (RSEQ), as well as the installation of protective mattresses on the wall. at the end of the gymnasium allowing safer practice of this sport. These mattresses will be decorated with the effigy of the Grizzlys in order to consolidate the feeling of belonging of young people to their team.

Secondly, the school wishes to purchase portable stands for the benefit of all sports teams and their supporters. Indeed, the purchase of stands will improve access to local matches for spectators during the various competitions and strengthen the feeling of belonging to the school.

Adequate facilities

The craze for the practice of physical activities is very present in Montmagny and the practice of basketball is particularly booming. According to the School, the succession seems already assured for the next few years thanks, among other things, to the practice of basketball and many other sports in the elementary schools of the sector. It is considered essential for the Louis-Jacques-Casault to be able to meet the expectations and needs of users and thus offer them adequate facilities.
