Novak Djokovic: New details on mysterious metal disc on chest

Novak Djokovic is in the semifinals of the French Open after beating Karen Katschanow in four sets. There it comes to a giant duel against the Spanish world number one Carlos Alcaraz. During the game against Russia’s Kachanov, Djokovic again wore the mysterious metal disc, a taopatch, on his chest.

“I liked Iron Man as a child, so I’m trying to embody Iron Man,” Djokovic said jokingly about his special patch. It is an “incredibly efficient” nanotechnology, without which he “would probably not be sitting here today”.

But what is it exactly? According to the manufacturer Tao Technologies from Italy, it is a “nanotechnological device that converts the heat of the body into light, which in turn is sent to the nervous system”. The body comes back into balance. In addition, a Taopatch can contribute to “increasing athletic performance and concentration”. And what’s more: It is also said to be effective against ailments, but above all against muscle pain and fatigue.

Whether it all works is debatable. “CH Media” contacted several doctors. They did not want to be mentioned by name in connection with the procedure, but chose clear words such as “humbug” and “hocus-pocus”.

Meanwhile, several tennis exponents understand that Djokovic uses the metal disc. Legend and TV expert Boris Becker told Eurosport: “Novak is always up to date with sports medicine and always tries to keep his body fit and regenerate quickly. Faith is the strongest muscle.” The German tennis player and expert Mischa Zverev also expressed understanding: “That’s typical of him. It’s good and healthy because we’re evolving, otherwise we’d still be playing with wooden racquets or white tennis balls.”
