N2: AS Poissy will play its future on appeal before the DNCG on July 4

The race against time is on. AS Poissy (N2) now knows the date of the presentation of its file before the appeal committee of the DNCG (National Management Control Department) of the Federation. The leaders have an appointment at the premises of the FFF on July 4th. The Yvelines club had initially been excluded from the national championships by the financial policeman of French football on May 23. The debt amounts to approximately €260,000. This exclusion of AS Poissy (ASP) comes at a time when the city of Yvelines will welcome PSG to its new training center next month. A situation that would inevitably damage the image of the municipality. The ASP does not give up and therefore hopes to regain its place within the 4th national level.

Late Tuesday afternoon, a meeting at the initiative of Karl Olive, the deputy (Renaissance) of the 12th district of Yvelines, also former mayor of Poissy and president of the ASP, was held at the City Hall with the mayor (LR) Sandrine Berno Dos Santos, the legal department of the town hall, the management committee of the ASP, three former presidents and some friends of the club. Proof that the situation of the football club does not leave the city of Yvelines insensitive.

“This meeting was very constructive, I spoke about the problems and they were attentive, declares the president Olivier Szewczuk. I am a craftsman and I run a club on a voluntary basis. I haven’t gone crazy with the players, we’ve had the same payroll for several years. We traveled by minibus, we had cheap meals… There have been a lot of victories this season and therefore bonuses for the players and the staff, ie 20 people. »

With the overhaul of the amateur championships (5 relegations from N2 to N3 this season), the ASP had to build a competitive team to maintain its place in the 4th national level. The Yvelines club did not have delusions of grandeur since it had the 9th payroll in group A this season (out of 16 teams). He finished his championship last Saturday in 6th place.

The president of the ASP since 2017 will summon the parents of the club’s 800 licensees in the coming days to explain the situation to them. “I have nothing to hide, I showed naivety, too much kindness but never embezzlement, he insists. I trusted friends who had promised to put up money. And the loss of some sponsors brought us to this deficit. I am discussing with several partners who could join us. I was on the phone with one of them yesterday at midnight. »

The ASP therefore has one month to prepare for this call. But, all the players will not wait for the decision of the DNCG to stay or not in the Yvelines. Only two players, midfielder Samba Dembélé and striker Amadou Konaté, are still under contract next season, as well as coach Walid Aïchour and his assistant Malik Rouag. “We are aware that players will leave. They have had a remarkable season and will have no trouble finding a club,” concludes Olivier Szewczuk.
