Mike James, Monaco leader before match 2: “We didn’t do anything special”

“Monaco is two wins away from an unbeaten play-off campaign. Is this an objective within the group?
Not really to be honest (smile). We especially want to win this title to finally go on vacation, the season has been so long. What happened on Saturday (87-64 victory in the first game of the final), it’s just a game. We didn’t do anything special. The series is still long, they are not going to bed. We still have to protect the home advantage.

For you, what would this title of champion of France represent with Monaco?
It would be Monaco’s first, so it’s bound to be something special. I won two in Greece (2017, 2018 with Panathinaikos) but afterwards, I was injured at the end of the season in Italy (in Milan, 2018-2019) then I couldn’t finish the play-offs in Russia with the Covid and my freelance in Brooklyn, and there was last season (defeat in match 5 against Asvel, 82-84 ap). Winning now would put me back on the right track. »
