Mexican Forward Jaime Jaquez Joins Miami Heat in 2023 NBA Draft

The Mexican forward Jaime Jaquez was chosen by the Miami Heat with the pick number 18 of the 2023 NBA draft.

A 22-year-old UCLA graduate, Jaquez was one of the best players last season for his team, which at the end of the season was unable to fight for the title due to various injuries on its roster.

During his college days, Jaquez averaged 17.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

To gain an important place on the team, Jaquez will have to improve his outside shooting, as he registered 0.8 triples in 2.6 attempts, with 31% from the arc in his first year as a university student. Four years later, he averaged 0.9 hits, on 2.8 attempts and 32% accuracy.

Jaquez will have as companions Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Kyrie Irving, among others; besides that he will be part of the NBA runner-up team.
