Mercato: Rennes thinks of Trojan goalkeeper Gauthier Gallon

The curtain has fallen on Ligue 1 and the transfer window will be able to officially open its doors this Friday, June 10. Qualified directly for the Europa League thanks to its fourth place in the league, Rennes hopes to be able to count on a good part of its team for the recovery next month. Under the impetus of its technical director Florian Maurice, the Breton club has established its priorities: a number two goalkeeper, a right side in the event of the departure of Hamari Traoré, two midfielders and a right winger.

For the midfield sector, an agreement in principle has been reached with Enzo Le Fée. As we revealed on our site, the 23-year-old midfielder gives priority to Rennes who have yet to find common ground with Lorient who, according to Ouest-France, would demand 25 million euros to release his player under contract for another year.

The goalkeeper’s record is also expected to accelerate in the coming weeks. If it is still a little early to know his future destination, Dogan Alemdar, understudy of Steve Mandanda, will be the subject of a loan this summer to allow him to earn playing time. To compensate for his departure, Rennes studies several profiles, including Gauthier Gallon. The 30-year-old goalkeeper has been playing as number one in Troyes since 2019. He should change his tune after the relegation of the Aube club to the second division. No discussion has yet been initiated between Rennes and Troyes for the doorman under contract until 2024, but the interest is mutual according to our information. An Italian club would also have taken information on the former Nîmes.
