María Camila Galeano Leads Quindío’s Handball Team at the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games

In the last edition, in Barranquilla, Colombia finished in third position, adding 79 gold, 93 silver and 97 bronze medals, for a total of 269 metals, behind Mexico and Cuba. This position has been repeated by the national representation since the San Salvador 2002 games.

Historically, Colombia has participated in 19 editions of the Central American and Caribbean Games. The first of these dates back to Panama City, in 1938. The only thing he was not present at was the games that took place in Havana in 1982.

On only one occasion, the tricolor reached the figure of 100 gold medals and it was in Mayagüez 2010, while in Barranquilla 2018 it became the participation with the highest number of metals: 269. Today the definition of handball will begin, with the presence of Galeano, who hopes to return to Quindío with a medal hanging around his neck.
