Lillard admits his preferences to be transferred

Seeing Damian Lillard changing teams seems impossible. For years he has stressed his love for the Portland Trail Blazers and when he has talked about joining other stars, it has been under the premise that they would do it in Oregon. For this reason, at 32 years old and with a huge contract until 2027, it seems impossible for a transfer to take place at this point.

In any case, and with such a scenario known to all, the Blazers point guard was in shobasketball and among many things he talked about what his preferences would be in order to be transferred. This was his response. “Miami, obviously… Bam is my dawg…Brooklyn is another obvious choice, because Mikal Bridges is also my dawg,” he notes.

As we said, what Lillard does is practically talk for the sake of talking. For many years in which Portland has not had a team to win, there has been speculation that the time for him to request the transfer was approaching, but it has never happened and now break with what would end up becoming a one club man seems to be meaningless.

The point is that at 32 years old (he turns 33 in a few weeks) Lillard is still hoping that the Blazers will be able to make a move that will put him in the race for the ring. You’ve had a playoff team for a long time (it hasn’t been in the last two seasons), but the closest you’ve gotten to your goal is a Western Conference finals in 2019. Is there time to change your story? ? Impossible to know, but he continues to trust it.

“I want to have a chance to win in Portland. We have the opportunity, in terms of assets, to build a team that can compete. If we can’t do that… then we should have a different conversation,” he warns.
