José Mourinho Resigns from UEFA Football Board over Principles Concern

Portuguese coach José Mourinho resigned as a member of the UEFA Football Board, a body created last April and which brings together 19 other coaches, with the aim of suggesting proposals and laws to improve football.

“As I thank you for inviting me to become a member of the UEFA Football Board, I regret to inform you that, with immediate effect, I am renouncing my membership in this group. The principles I fully believed in when I joined the group are no longer there and I feel obliged to make this decision. I kindly request that you also communicate my decision to the President Mr. Aleksander Ceferin”, reads the letter sent by the Roma coach to Zvonimir Boban, head of football at UEFA.

This position by Mourinho, it should be noted, comes a day after the suspension of four games in European competitions to the coach of the Giallorossiby addressing Europa League final referee Anthony Taylor with ‘abusive language’
