Joe Mazzulla is almost alone

Days after the Boston Celtics capped off a disappointing season with elimination against the Miami Heat in the Conference Finals, it somehow comes to light that the ‘feeling’ of Joe Mazzulla with his assistants he was not the best.

As reported by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, up to three assistants from the Boston coaching staff have gone to the Houston Rockets with Making Udoka: Ben Sullivan, Mike Moser y Garrett Jackson.

Udoka was suspended in September as Celtics coach for his relationship with a franchise employee violating the rules of the organization and Mazzulla went on to assume the direction as interim.

The Italian-born coach – whose continuity on the bench is confirmed – was officially promoted to first coach in February when Udoka, hired by the Rockets, was fired. The departure of up to three assistants to return to Udoka reveal that Joe Mazzulla perhaps did not have the necessary support.

In fact, Shams Charania already announced before these changes took place that the idea was for Mazzulla to reinforce his ‘coaching staff’ with people he trusted. For his part, and as reported by Scotto, Aaron Miles has stirred up the Rockets coach – so he could also go to Houston.

Other franchisees would also be interested in another assistant such as Jarrell Christian. The chemistry in the Celtics locker room was good, but so is the harmony in the coaching staff. And, given the rout, it seemed that there was none in Boston.
