Jeremías Fernández and a great performance in the Judo Pan American

The judoka from San Juan Jeremy Fernandez it has given continuity to the very good 2022 it had, as the results of this season continue to be highly satisfactory.

Jeremías, 20, started judo at the age of four, competing from an early age in national tournaments and winning gold medals several times. After the good results obtained, at the age of twelve he was called up to the national team, with which he competed in Chile and Paraguay, winning bronze medals.

After the stoppage forced by the pandemic, he was able to resume the competition rhythm, once again with good results, which allowed him to be in the first Open last year, where he won a bronze medal, which for him had a very special meaning because later The calls to concentrate on CeNARD began and -since last November- he has been traveling once a month to train three times a week, with two days of judo and one of the gym and when he is in San Juan, he continues with that routine, although with a little less intensity in judo and more gym.

Regarding the current season, Jeremías comments: “This year started very well, since in the first national I had, in Formosa, I reached the final, obtaining the silver medal and last weekend I was in the Santiago Open from Chile, where I had to compete with judokas of a very good level, obtaining the bronze medal. That for me was a great joy, to be able to bring a medal in an international competition, but also, it was a privilege to be able to see the competitiveness and the level that exists in seniors; therefore, bringing that medal to my country left me very satisfied. Hopefully I can repeat it.

My next challenge is next weekend, where I have another Pan American Open to be held in Carlos Paz, and in which there will also be competitors from all over the Americas. Then, to continue working and always be prepared for other national and international tournaments and waiting for a new call. In August I have the Center of the Republic tournament, in Córdoba and the Clausura in Santiago del Estero”, says Jeremías.
