The Chronicle:

Under a scorching heat at the end of June and at the same time with a large audience, loudly incited by Roberto Rizza (first manager of I Patrini) who covered the role of speaker “American Style”, was staged on Saturday 24 June at 10.00 the first semifinal of the BXC championship which pitted the home team of the Patrini Malnate against the Lampi Milano.
Coach Boscardi, strengthened by the victory obtained against the Meneghini during the last match of the single round, decides to deploy the same line-up that took to the field in the previous match in order to stem the Milanese collective.
The Malnatesi immediately lined up compact in diamond placed optimally in both defensive lines managing to direct the match in their favor with the Lampi who were unable to concretely fuel.
Inning after inning, the Malnatese formation effectively managed to collect more and more points with excellent jokes by all its interpreters and a well-coordinated defense by Gaetano Casale. The Lampi gave the feeling of a timid reaction only in the fifth round when Toigo hit a home run, however they were unable to make themselves dangerous in the offensive phase afterwards and the homerun will remain the only point scored for the guests.
For the Patrinis, assuming that there was an optimal performance by all the players, the best were Casale (5 out of 8, 2 pbc and 18 y.), Trombini (3 out of 7 and 1 pbc), Marchetto ( 2 out of 6 and 2 pbc) and Rosafio (2 out of 7 and 2 pbc).
For the Lampi, despite a complicated game among the best, it is necessary to mention Gigi Toigo (2 out of 6, 1 hr and 1 pbc), Allegretta (3 out of 6 and 9 y.) and Dieng (2 out of 6 and 5 y.).
The Patrini ended the match in the eighth inning with a 9-1 result, thus accessing the championship final scheduled for next weekend against Fortitudo Bologna, also fresh winners of their semifinals.

The Chronicle:

Under the famous “Leonian sun” began a game that was believed to have been fought because the two teams had shown grit and technical ability in the games played during the regular season, but the tension of the importance of the event probably affected both defensive how offensive of the two teams who have struggled to perform on their usual standards.
However, Fortitudo managed to put a couple of points on the scoreboard immediately approached by the Lioness the next round and the game proceeded with defenses that weren’t exactly at their best and alternating current attacks that kept the result very uncertain.
The match took the decisive turn during the fourth attack of the Bolognesi who, despite having to give up on Naples (he was injured in the third inning), managed to score the four points which will prove to be decisive for the conquest of the final stake.
The Brescian batsmen did everything to come back but the defense of the Calze Bianche, despite the obligatory change of defensive line-up, managed to contain them by conceding them only one point until the end of the match.
For Coach Muhammad’s athletes, Diane’s excellent performance (5 hits out of 7 rounds, 1 pbc and 6 assists) followed by Asli (3 out of 7 and 3 y.)
For the Felsinei above all Fatty (3 out of 6, 1 pbc and 14 y.) well supported by Sahli (3 out of 7, 2 pbc and 1 y.), Miola (2 out of 6, 1 pbc) and DO Carrieri (5 to.)
Congratulations to both teams who put on a good competitive show playing the match to the end with sportsmanship and enthusiasm.
