The 59th edition of the Sette Colli / International Swimming Trophy took place at the Foro Italico Swimming Stadium from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th June. Over 30 nations and more than 60 clubs representing over 500 athletes took part.
The FISDIR category II1 athlete Giorgia Marchi was present who in the 100m breaststroke established the new FISDIR absolute record by stopping the clock at 1.23.14. Recently returned from the Global Games in Vichy, where in the prestigious role of standard-bearer she won the bronze medal in the 200m breaststroke, Giorgia also obtained the minimum qualification for the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.
Giorgia finds her second best time in the 50m breaststroke after Vichy – where she swam in 37.67 obtaining 4th place at the Global games – swimming very well in 38.79. Once you find the balance in choosing the right frequency in the 50, 100 and 200 breaststrokes, Giorgia will surely be even more competitive.
“Giorgia has resumed swimming well as I haven’t seen her since December last year and we need this to work on internalizing the correct movements of the breaststroke swim, useful for improving on the 100m breaststroke and on the qualifiers for Paris 2024″.comments the mother Federica Verin.
Giorgia is currently in 12th place in the world para swimming world ranking for the times produced and valid from 1 November 2022 to January 2024 for the qualifications for the Paris Games.
In the 100m style he placed 7th with his second best time in 1.09.61, very close to his personal best of 1.09.25, a time he hadn’t managed to achieve for over 1 year and a half.
Positive experience, of personal and sporting growth, without being intimidated by the normal finalist opponents at the Sette Colli.
Georgia’s race
Giorgia holds 32 Italian records (25 absolute and 7 in category) between Fisdir and Finp and is an athlete of the Fiamme Oro Sports Group, with which she has been registered since this year.
