The German national basketball player Christian Sengfelder is leaving the former BBL series champion Brose Bamberg after four years.
The contract with the Bamberg captain and EM bronze medalist from 2022, which actually ran until 2025, was terminated. The Franconians announced this on Wednesday.
“Sometimes in professional sport you have to make decisions that hurt you a lot because they go against what you actually want,” said managing director Philipp Höhne: “Chris is a wonderful sportsman with a flawless character. However, we had to adapt to the changed framework conditions in our organization and we agree with him with a heavy heart on a contract termination.”
The Brose group of companies recently withdrew as a shareholder in Bamberg. However, the future of the club is secured in the long term.
