Allofs: “After playing a presentable season with many positive developments, we can look to the future with optimism. Allofs when asked by BILD: “The wishes are diverse. But we know that we cannot implement everything. Ao’s goal has always been to go to a premier league, and that goal is still there. If that’s the case, we’ll have to deal with it. It can also be the case that clubs are interested in two or three other candidates and we are confronted with inquiries. We’ll deal with that too. The situation at Fortuna demands that. We can’t say that we’re going to keep our best players anyway and add them to our squad. Unfortunately this is not possible.”
Christoph Klarer is also in demand. He could leave the club for a similar sum as the Japanese. The Austrian’s contract expires in the summer of 2024. The club has been in talks with the central defender for months and definitely wants to keep him in the Rhineland longer.
Allofs on BILD demand: “We don’t want to let him go on a free transfer. We want to be clear as soon as possible with the players whose contracts expire in 2024 and with whom we want to work in the future. Accordingly, we want to quickly extend the contracts – or then find other solutions.”
From the club’s point of view, it means: extend or sell.
