Esport – League of Legends: BK ROG takes the lead, Aegis declines

The flop of the week: Aegis

A few days ago, nothing seemed to be able to stop Aegis (6 wins for 2 losses), on cloud nine and still undefeated in the French League of League of Legends. Jérémy “Eika” Valdenaire and his partners came down to earth this week, and violently, by chaining two defeats.

Against BK ROG, the other locomotive of this summer segment, they defended their skin dearly on Wednesday, but small mechanical errors at the start of the match were crippling. Against Izi Dream, dead last in the league, on Thursday, there was nothing to save and the team was completely overwhelmed in all sectors.

Team of the week: BK ROG

The leader’s folding seat having been left vacant, there is a new king in LFL: BK ROG (7-1). Transformed since the beginning of the summer, the structure plays a very square game and reaps the victories. On Wednesday, she methodically smothered Aegis, before continuing the next day against Solary, even if the returned copy was less clean, thanks in particular to her voluble captain Pawel “Czekolad” Szczepanik, in all good moves. While the integration of its Korean duo Ho-bin “Howling” Jeon and Eui-joo “Trigger” Kim now seems complete, the club is equipped to play the leading roles in the play-offs.

Match of the week: Karmine Corp – Team GO

No winning streak for Karmine Corp (5-3). This Thursday, the Blue Wall lost to Team GO (6-2), in the most spectacular match of the week. Carried by its individualities, including the always sharp Caliste “Caliste” Henry-Hennebert, the most popular club in France had nevertheless largely taken the best economic start in the meeting. But the strength in teamfights of their opponents, who accumulated the dragons throughout the game, finally allowed them to pass, as the clock ticked.

At the edge of the abyss, the KC then made the pleasure last, trying to rip off the game as best they could and to save time, thanks to LeBlanc Lucas “Saken” Fayard. Without success: led by Loïc “toucouille” Dubois, GO ended up closing the deal in 35 minutes, to double the loser of the evening in the general classification of the LFL. Now separated by a victory, the two teams have nevertheless proven that they belong to the top of the table, so that a revenge in the play-offs in a few weeks cannot be ruled out.

Player of the Week: Edgaras “Eckas” Strazdauskas (GameWard)

Unrecognizable and without the slightest victory since the start of the split, GameWard (2-6) finally woke up. The Ile-de-France structure bagged two convincing successes this week, against LDLC OL and especially Vitality Bee, who had the right to a macro game lesson this Thursday. Good results largely due to the return to form of his young jungler Edgaras “Eckas” Strazdauskas, already a great architect of the team’s success in the spring. Masterful on his Poppy against the Bees, the Lithuanian maintains the hope of taking his team to the play-offs.

But also…

The summer segment is turning into a nightmare for Vitality Bee (2-6), which chained two bitter defeats, against Team GO and GameWard, without being at the level individually. The Bees now share last place with GameWard and Izi Dream (2-6), surprise winner against Aegis.

Transparent this week, BDS Academy (3-5) suffered two setbacks, against Solary (4-4), who thus remains in the top 6, and three-time defending champion LDLC OL (3-5) , still on a slight upward slope after a sluggish period.
