Eintracht wins transfer poker against BVB – Next new signing fixed for 7.5 million euros

Eintracht Frankfurt has confirmed the next new signing for the coming season and outperformed a well-known competitor.

Frankfurt – The squad planning at Eintracht Frankfurt has been in full swing for a long time. After the fixed transfer of Willian Pacho, who is moving from Royal Antwerp to Main, the SBU can also keep Philipp Max. A purchase option was anchored in the loan contract with PSV Eindhoven, which the eagles pull and thus keep the left-back until mid-2026.

Eintracht Frankfurt pushes squad planning

Markus Krösche, sports director of Eintracht Frankfurt, continues to work diligently on reinforcements after Max’s commitment and before the final of the DFB Cup against RB Leipzig and landed the next new signing two days after the last Bundesliga matchday. SBU have confirmed that Hugo Larsson is coming from reigning Swedish Cup winners Malmö FF and has signed a contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until the end of June 2028.

The Kicker sports magazine reports a transfer fee of 7.5 million euros, the club did not give any figures when the transfer was announced. Most recently, Borussia Dortmund is said to have been interested in the midfielder, who is considered one of Sweden’s greatest talents. However, the SGE outperformed BVB and won the transfer poker game for the 18-year-old.

It was clear to the Swedish club that Malmö FF Larsson could not last beyond the summer. “Because of his age and achievements, there is tremendous interest in him. There’s no denying that there are teams he can go to this summer. Then all parties must be satisfied, ”said Malmö’s sports director Daniel Andersson recently to the football portal Fotbollskanalen.se.

Eintracht Frankfurt signs Larsson from Malmo

The 18-year-old, who made his debut for the Swedish national team this year, is considered a top talent who is predicted to have a great footballing future. He has featured in all ten of Malmö FF’s league games this season, scoring one goal and assisting another.

“In Hugo Larsson, we have a young and already established midfielder with great potential. Despite his young age, Hugo is one of the regulars at the reigning Swedish Cup winners, which speaks for his personality as well as his talent. We will build Hugo and help him take his next step. We are convinced that he will bring us a lot of joy in the future,” Krösche is quoted as saying on the club’s website.

Timmo Hardung, sports director at SBU from July 1, is also happy about the commitment: “The talks with Hugo were characterized by great mutual respect from the start. Despite his young age, Hugo already makes a very mature impression and fits in perfectly with our team, both in terms of sport and personality. We are very happy about Hugo’s conscious decision for Eintracht Frankfurt and will give him the time he needs to adjust in the Bundesliga.” (smr)
