The Council of the Municipality of Pirri has expressed a negative opinion on the proposal to create a subdivision between via Pisano, via Newton and viale Marconi.
The subdivision envisages the construction of three residential areas for a total of approximately one thousand inhabitants. Then two areas intended for services, four exchange car parks and a vast green area used as a park with a baseball field and related services.
“No to the umpteenth subdivision” thundered by the Council, in particular the President of the Municipality Maria Laura Manca. “We are already at the fourth in less than four years. While the citizens’ problems continue to be unresolved. It is unacceptable from all points of view.”
The President of the Municipality also added that “in the historic center of Pirri there is a large number of uninhabited and decaying houses. Before designing and building new homes, it would be good to focus on solving problems related to traffic on via Vesalio and on the recovery and redevelopment of the existing building”.
Emanuele Boi, President of the Town Planning Commission of the Municipality, underlines: «We were called to express ourselves for the first time on this project and we abstained, asking that private individuals take into consideration the needs of citizens. The proposal that we have rejected provides for a reduction in space for services, demonstrating once again the lack of attention of this administration to the needs of Pirresi. Moreover, this subdivision would further weigh down the amount of vehicular traffic that invades the roads of the territories every day”.
