Conor McGregor is out! So Chandler received an offer from an interesting opponent

Following the ongoing series of The Ultimate Figher reality show, this time hosted by Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler, MMA fans are anxiously awaiting the announcement of the much-anticipated fight date. Unfortunately, it looks like we won’t see the McGregor vs Chandler fight this year at least. However, an interesting substitute is reported.

Wow! GOAT Jon Jones praises Jiří Procházka and even has a “plea” for him

Conor McGregor withdrew from the USADA anti-doping program last year following a nasty injury and is now being awaited to jump back in as his next fight with Michael Chandler hinges on it. According to USADA rules, a fighter must be active in the USADA testing program for six months and provide two samples before he can return to the UFC. Conor was expected to do so last week, but he didn’t.

The Irish superstar had until Friday, June 16, to submit the samples. That is, if Conor wants to fight again this year at the last event in December, UFC 296. USADA recently updated the testing and Conor McGregor is still nowhere, so it does not seem likely that he will return to the UFC Octagon this year.

“The USADA athlete testing history was updated yesterday and did not include any samples submitted by Conor McGregor. That doesn’t necessarily mean he hasn’t re-enrolled in the program, however several questions to USADA regarding his status have gone unanswered.” wrote journalist Aaron Bronsteter last week.

However, it has now been confirmed that Conor did not meet USADA’s deadline for submitting a test sample. As a result, he cannot wrestle in 2023!

So what will happen to Chandler, who last wrestled with Poirier, for whom he could not find a recipe? He will have to wait or find another opponent. An interesting one has now applied to him. “Chandler, you don’t have to worry about being without an opponent, because as long as I breathe, I’m here. Dana White knows my offer well,” said former UFC champion Eddie Alvarez.

He has already fought with Chandler twice in the past as part of Bellator, and both fighters are 1:1. This could be an interesting ending to the trilogy, but considering that Eddie has lost 3 of his last 5 fights, a return to the UFC seems unlikely. In addition, the light weight of the Champions League offers several names that Chandler could compete with.
