Christophe Pélissier extends to Auxerre

He then replaced Jean-Marc Furlan, architect of the accession in May 2022 ten years after Auxerre’s relegation to Ligue 2.

Coach Christophe Pélissier has extended his contract with AJ Auxerre, relegated to Ligue 2, by one year, the Icaunais club announced on Wednesday. Aged 57, Pélissier, now under contract until 2025 with an optional additional year, had initially signed up last October until June 30, 2024 to ensure the maintenance operation of AJA.

He then replaced Jean-Marc Furlan, architect of the accession in May 2022 ten years after Auxerre’s relegation to Ligue 2. But Auxerre failed in 17th place, synonymous with a return to the lower level. In a press release, AJ Auxerre evokes “an agreement signed quickly after the end of the season”.

The club points out that Pélissier is used to Ligue 2, recalling that he brought Amiens up in L1 in 2017 and Lorient in 2020. Former player in lower divisions, Christophe Pélissier cut his teeth as a coach in several amateur clubs (Revel, Muret and Luzenac, whom he had raised to L2, promotion canceled by the LFP for non-sporting reasons) before moving on to professional clubs.
