Chelsea billionaire Todd Boehly makes the next club takeover perfect!
According to official information from the club, the 49-year-old and his business partners are now also joining Ligue 1 club Racing Straßbourg and are securing the entire club shares of the Alsatian.
Fifteenth in the table last season should act as the Blues’ farm team and send young talents to London at regular intervals.
In return, Strasbourg will probably regularly receive a large sum of money from the Boehly empire from now on, also to promote its own development.
Boehly is thus continuing its spending spree in European club football. Under the American’s leadership, Chelsea have spent more than 600 million euros on transfers in the recent past.
Additionally, as of 2012, Boehly has owned 20 percent of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team and is a co-owner of the Los Angeles Sparks women’s basketball team. Boehly and his business partner Mark Walter jointly acquired a 27 percent stake in NBA team Los Angeles Lakers in July 2021.
