CCE urges border governors to promote nearshoring – El Sol de México

The president of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE)Francisco Cervantes Díaz, met with governors of the border states north of the country to coordinate efforts in favor of attracting foreign direct investment derived from the relocation of companies, also known as nearshoring.

The objective of this meeting was to arrange collaboration in favor of foreign direct investment and promote national investment in border infrastructurethis in benefit of the Treaty between Mexico, the United States and Canada (TMEC).

The governors of Baja California, Chihuahua, Nuevo León, Sonora and Tamaulipas attended the meeting within the framework of the National Council Meeting in Mexico City.

Cervantes Díaz highlighted the importance of the companies in economic development and job creation, highlighting the potential of nearshoring to strengthen the competitiveness of the mexican industry.

“This is a unique opportunity for the business sector and our country. Therefore, it is vitally important to make the most of this circumstance,” emphasized Cervantes Díaz.

The governors, for their part, explained the scope and potential of each state in terms of attracting companies and relocating supply chains, taking into account aspects such as the human talentthe infrastructure and the logistics.

Both the business sector and the governors agreed on the need to establish solid coordination between the public and private sector to attract investment and promote economic development in the region.

Both sectors emphasized the importance of creating a business-friendly environment, simplifying procedures, and guaranteeing legal certainty, in order to build trust and encourage job creation.
