Basketball: Victor Wembanyama and the Mets will face Monaco in the final

Victor Wembanyama, who will join the NBA this summer, will play in the final of the French Basketball Championship with Boulogne-Levallois against Monaco. The Mets eliminated defending champion ASVEL on Sunday.

France will still benefit from Wemby. This Sunday, Boulogne-Levallois, Victor Wembanyama’s team, reached the final of the French Basketball Championship by inflicting a third defeat on Asvel (71-69) in their series of semi-finals on Sunday in Villeurbanne. They will face Monaco.

This elimination marks the end of the reign for the club of Tony Parker, three-time champion of France. The crown will go to the Monegasque armada, strong in its European epic, or to Victor Wembanyama’s Metropolitans 92 for its last matches in France before joining the NBA.

After losing match 3 (86-59), the Ile-de-France team raised their heads to win in match 4 in Villeurbanne (69-71). The Mets win the series 3 wins to 1. For its part, the ASM, third in the Euroleague, has only one mouth of Bourg (3 wins to 0). Match 1 will take place on Saturday June 10 in the Principality.

As a reminder, Victor Wembanyama, great hope of French basketball, should be drafted in first position on June 23rd. And in the lottery, it was the San Antonio Spurs who got the first pick.
