“Army and Sport” in Piazza Navona

On Sunday 4 June from 10:00 to 19:00 in Piazza Navona on the occasion of the National Sports Day, the free event “Army and Sport” will be held, open to all.

The square in the center of the capital will be set up by the military of the Army’s Olympic Sports Center to give interested parties the opportunity to try their hand at various disciplines from athletics, fencing, boxing, judo, karate, taekwondo, weightlifting and biathlon, table tennis , military pentathlon, high jump and trampoline. Supervising and guiding the users are world-class military champions and technicians such as Alice Mangione (sprinter), Mara Navarria (fencer), Marta Bassino (alpine skiing), Abraham Conyedo (wrestler), Sofiia Yaremchuk (marathon runner), Michela Moioli (snowboardcross) , Flavio Cannone (trampoline), Elena Curtoni (alpine skiing).

The event created to promote sporting activity among the youngest will also allow free screens to be carried out for prevention and improve the health of citizens. Thanks to the Longevit Run gazebo ordained by Prof. Francesco Landi of the Agostino Gemelli Foundation University Hospital, it will be possible to undergo the screen of the 7 main cardiovascular risk factors (blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, BMI, diet, physical exercise, smoking).

The initiative is organized by the Italian Army with the collaboration of the Municipality of Rome and FIDAL Lazio, on the occasion of the National Sports Day promoted by CONI, to encourage sporting activity among the youngest.
