Another surprising result was achieved by the youth sector of the ASD Army – 187th Folgore of Livorno, at the important international karate competition called “Open del Veneto” of the Fijlkam (Italian Federation of judo fight karate martial arts), held last weekend , at the Padua sports facility.
In this competitive panorama, in the Olympic specialty of kumite (controlled contact combat) the silver medal was won by the Folgorino Lucca Andrea Bozzi (photo), “Junior” class (16 – 17 years) 76 kg. Excellent performance by Bozzi for the conduct of the race who, unfortunately, in the fourth match, in the final, gave way to his opponent and positioned himself in second place in the category classification. The event, scheduled in the national ranking and regulated by the federation, was the fourth stage of the six pre-established.
The ranking has the purpose of determining the merit positioning of the athletes, with respect to the results obtained in the competitions of interest, with the aim of identifying the future athletes who will go to form the team of the Italian youth national team, in anticipation of the next continental commitments and intercontinental.
The organization recorded the presence of 1,045 registered athletes and 199 lined up clubs who battled it out to contend for the best position on the podium.
The trip was led by the technical director with the “stars”, Antonio Citi.
